Searching the Library catalog


Advanced Search

Advanced Search finds keywords anywhere in a record or only in specific fields.

To perform a search:

  1. Enter the search term (s) you want to find in the Search For: field. (Search terms are automatically truncated on the right; punctuation, case, and word order are ignored.)
  2. Select from the drop-down list whether you want to search for all of these, any of these or as a phrase.
  3. Choose a field to limit your search to by selecting from the Search by: dropdown menu.
  4. If searching for multiple words or phrases, select which Boolean operator (AND, OR, or NOT) you want applied
  5. (Optional) Apply limits to your search by clicking the Set search limits button and choosing from the list of limits.
  6. (Optional) Specify how many search results you want to display on each page by selecting the number of records in the ...records per page dropdown menu.
  7. Click the Search button to execute the search. You can clear the information entered into this page by clicking Reset.
